Duchess Catherine

Duchess Catherine celebrated her birthday with a "meal at Kensington Palace".

The Duchess of Cambridge turned 32 on January 9 and although Prince William spent the day studying at Cambridge University, where he has enrolled on a 10-week agriculture course, the couple enjoyed the evening in their newly refurbished home.

They were joined by close family, including the William's flame-haired brother Prince Harry and Catherine's mother, Carole Middleton.

A source told E! News: "Unfortunately it seems [Prince] William was tired after his full day at Cambridge. They've stayed in and are having a meal at Kensington Palace. [Prince] Harry is with them.

"Carole [Middleton] was spotted at lunch time picking up food from Whole Foods. Then she went back to Kensington Palace, so Carole is with them, too."

The brunette beauty - who was believed to have spent the day with her five-month-old son Prince George - is known to enjoy spending her birthday with her loved ones.

Last year William treated Catherine, her parents Carole and Michael, brother James and sister Pippa to watch the Cirque de Soleil show at the Royal Albert Hall with seats in the Royal box.
