Prince William

Prince William

Prince William will begin a 10-week agriculture course at Cambridge University today (07.01.14).

The 31-year-old royal - who graduated from University of St Andrews in 2005 with a 2:1 degree in geography - will return to university, this time to learn about the issues facing the UK's rural communities and the farming industry.

He will be expected to attend lectures and meetings during the period where he will be taught by academics from across the educational establishment.

The intensive course, organised by the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, will help prepare William for when he inherits the Duchy of Cornwall estate from his father, Prince Charles.

William's return to university has caused a stir and students at Cambridge have accused the prince of securing a "free pass" to the prestigious university since undergraduate courses require two A grades and an A* at A-Level, and he has ABC grades.

William follows in his father Charles' footsteps, who studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, and graduated with a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology in 1970 and The Duke of Edinburgh was Chancellor of the university from 1976 to 2011.
