Princess Eugenie

Britain's Princess Eugenie has landed a job in New York.

The 23-year-old royal - the daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - has been given a permanent role at online auction house Paddle8

after impressing during a three-month placement, which began last September.

A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "The plan was to spend three months in New York and see how it went.

"But Eugenie has been a big success and they wanted her to stay so she'll now be there until at least September."

A spokesperson for the firm confirmed Eugenie's appointment to the £25,000-a-year benefit auctions manager post, which will see her travel between the UK and the US.

They said: "I can confirm that Eugenie will continue to work in New York."

While the princess is thrilled with her new job, she is upset at the prospect of spending more time away from her boyfriend, bar manager Jack Brooksbank.

The source said: "Eugenie is loving New York. The hardest thing has been leaving Jack behind, but he told her she had to take the job."

In her new role for Paddle8 - which is backed by Damien Hirst - Eugenie is expected to work alongside her friend Alexander Gilkes on global online auctions, and also be involved in projects for the firm's charity offshoot Gavel & Grand.
