WhatsApp is reportedly in the final testing stage for the new multi-device feature.
Linked Devices will enable multiple devices to log into the app using the same account.
The multi-device Beta will mean that there is "no internet connection required".
WABetaInfo also claims that users will be able to use four devices at once when the Linked Devices feature arrives and you won't be required to have your phone switched on.
The site claims that: "WhatsApp is actually planning a new modern UI for the desktop client, showing how the chat history is migrated from your device and that the process is end-to-end encrypted."
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger could be set to merge.
A new update was hidden in code for Messenger which would enable users to speak to friends on WhatsApp without downloading the latter app.
However, it's not known when the merge would take place and it could take some time, as it's a "complicated" process.
A tech leaker said: "The integration of WhatsApp into Facebook Messenger isn't available yet.
"This is a very complicated feature and it requires time. We've no idea if the plan to merge those services will continue or if it will be abandoned."
In April, Facebook launched a new cross-platform app called Messenger Rooms, which allows users on a range of apps, including Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram to speak together in one place.
