We’re almost two full months into 2022 believe it or not, so now we’re looking ahead to March and checking out some of the best returning television shows and series that will keep us entertained.

With a flurry of successful shows making a comeback with their second season, as well as one particularly exciting series reaching its conclusion, there’s plenty to enjoy. Here’s everything you should be watching in, or catching up on ahead of, March 2022.

Star Trek: Picard (Season 2) - Returns to Prime Video on March 4th, 2022

The legendary Jean-Luc Picard, played by Patrick Stewart, returns on a bold and exciting new journey into the past in his own Prime Video-exclusive series (excluding the US and Canada).

Picard works alongside old friends as well as fresh faces to tackle the challenges thrown up in the 21st century on Earth, in a desperate race to save the galaxy's future and ultimately, take on one of his most dangerous foes of all time…

Alison Pill, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Orla Brady, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Brent Spiner will all also star, with Whoopi Goldberg and John de Lancie also set to make appearances.

Outlander (Season 6) - Returns to Starzplay on March 6th, 2022

After what has been the longest wait between seasons of Outlander ever, audiences will finally be able to catch up with their favourite characters and 'enter the heart of the storm’.

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) continue to fight to protect those they love when the series returns, navigating their new life in colonial America and establishing a home in the New World. With a Revolution on the horizon, however, keeping the peace may be harder than ever before.

The Last Kingdom (Season 5, Final) - Returns to Netflix on March 9th, 2022

Uhtred of Bebbanburg's (Alexander Dreymon) journey will reach its conclusion in the final season of The Last Kingdom, as audiences join the character in a time jump, "many years" after peace was agreed between the Saxons and Danes.

Of course, nothing good lasts forever and, when Brida (Emily Cox) makes her return, a formidable army of warriors by her side, she vows to take revenge against Uhtred for his perceived abandonment. Exactly what price he has to pay for Brida’s onslaught remains to be seen, but it looks as though his life will be changed forever…

Top Boy (Season 4) - Returns to Netflix on March 18th, 2022

After winning the war against Jamie (Micheal Ward), Dushane (Ashley Walters) is now on a high in Top Boy, making more money than ever and showing no signs of slowing down. Dreaming of a future that will eventually take him away from the road, his dreams are shattered when an unexpected problem arises and, all of his hard work threatens to collapse around him.

Elsewhere, Sully (Kano Robinson) is trying to move on after he killed his friend Dris (Shone Romulus), but will he be able to get his life back on track when every path seems to lead back to the world he wants to leave behind?

Sanditon (Season 2) Returns to BritBox UK on March 21st, 2022

Inspired by Jane Austen's unfinished novel, Sanditon will make its return for a second season this March, introducing a bunch of new faces when doing so to propel the stormy series forward.

The new episodes will catch up with Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) who returns to the titular coastal resort, which has only grown in popularity. Hoping to live a less ordinary life than the one she may be destined for, she becomes governess to Augusta Markham (Eloise Webb) and Leo Colbourne (Flora Mitchell), but it’s a more challenging job than she could have imagined.

Meanwhile, Tom Parker (Kris Marshall) attempts to rebuild the resort, but with the secrets and lies of the Denham family rocking the foundations of Sanditon, will he be successful in his mission?

Raised by Wolves (Season 2) - Returns to Sky Atlantic on March 23rd, 2022

Ridley Scott's epic sci-fi series Raised by Wolves is set to return to Sky Atlantic and NOW in March, following the story of Android partners Mother (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim), along with their six human children. Finding a home in a newly-formed atheistic colony in Kepler 22 b's mysterious tropical zone, they'll be forced to navigate a strange new society.

Of course, that's easier said than done when Mother's "natural child" threatens to wipe out the little that remains of the human race, leading to extinction.

Bridgerton (Season 2) - Returns to Netflix on March 25th, 2022

The much-loved Bridgerton will make its return at the end of March, this time focusing on the story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his journey for love. Though he looks to be getting on well with one half of the Sharma sisters, who arrive from India, the other half of the same sibling duo realises that he simply wants to get on with his life.

Doing all she can to stop their relationship going to the next level, she gets closer to the Lord than she could ever have imagined and, as the sparks fly, family ties threaten to be broken forever.
