Russell Howard's Dingledodies Coming To BBC

Russell Howard’s critically-acclaimed stand-up show Dingledodies is to be shown on the BBC for the first time. Recorded during the Good News star’s twice extended 2009 tour, including three gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo and one at Wembley Arena), Russell Howard Live - Dingledodies will TX on BBC Three, 16th December at 10:35pm and BBC Two, 21st December at 11:35pm.

Packed with his trademark mix of eloquent gags and deft storytelling, Dingledodies sees RUSSELL share his observations on life’s big issues: ladies on trains, time travel, teenage parties, Charles Darwin, bags for life, awkward sex, wolf masks, and dressing up dogs.

One of the UK’s most successful stand-up comedians, Russell Howard will embark on a brand new arena tour, Right Here, Right Now, in spring 2011.

Following his previous sell-out UK arena tour, this will be his biggest tour yet, with multiple nights already sold out and additional dates added at some of the country’s biggest venues, including London’s O2 Arena.

He has previously released two bestselling live DVDs, 2008’s Russell Howard Live and 2009’s Russell Howard Live – Dingledodies, which have sold over 431,000 copies and dominated the top 10 of the DVD comedy chart during both years of release.  A DVD featuring the first series of Russell Howard’s Good News is on sale now through 4DVD.

The last 12 months has also seen Russell Howard make two further series of BBC Three’s highest rating studio entertainment show Russell Howard’s Good News, will return twice in 2011 with Series 4 in the Spring and Series 5 following in the Autumn.

Since Russell Howard’s Good News debuted on 22nd October 2009, ratings have grown from 1.7 million a week to 3.9 million a week in Series 3, with a peak of 1.4 million for a single showing. The show has regularly been number one on BBC iPlayer across all BBC channels.

In addition to Russell Howard’s Good News, Russell stars on Mock The Week, has twice featured on Live At The Apollo and appeared on Would I Lie To You (BBC One), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two), and 8 Out 10 Cats (Channel 4).
