American network CBS has ordered 14 of its shows to have new seasons before the usual deadlines, with nearly all of its long time runners getting another series.

The network’s array of drama is set to continue, with The Good Wife, both variations of NCIS, The Mentalist and the highly successful Elementary all getting an early renewal.

They’ve also secured new salvos from their raft of sitcoms, with The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls all getting a new series given the green light.

Two And A Half Men is the conspicuous absentee from the list, but rumours are that the show will be back, despite a fall in ratings since Ashton Kutcher’s arrival and continuous critical panning.

Other shows not to yet make the cut have been CSI: New York, Rules Of Engagement and Vegas.

CBS are the latest network to renew some of their shows after FOX handed out its golden tickets earlier in the month.
