With just over two weeks to go before Chilling Adventures of Sabrina makes its debut on Netflix, the streaming service are ramping up promotion for the series. Today (October 11), they've released a first look clip, showcasing the moment Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) first comes into contact with her beloved cat, Salem. Check out the teaser below:
Whilst the moment at first looks to be a terrifying one, the tension soon disappates when Salem makes his first appearance just in time for Sabrina's 16th birthday.
The kitten will serve as Sabrina's companion throughout the series, but fans of the original TV show should note that this is probably where the similarities end!
Adapted from the comic book series of the same name, Chilling Adventures will be much darker in tone, and is said to be in the same vein of classic horror flicks such as Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist.
Shipka stars alongside Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson and Bronson Pinchot in the series, which is written by Riverdale showrunner and Archie Comics chief creative officer, Robert Aguirre-Sacasa.
He also serves as an executive producer alongside his Riverdale collaborators Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Lee Toland Krieger and Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina debuts exclusively on Netflix on Friday, October 26, 2018.
