ITV’s long-running soap Coronation Street continues this week with some interesting storylines being woven for a number of our favourite characters.

One of those is Carla Connor (Alison King), who has to mask her discomfort when former fling Lucas (Glen Wallace) turns up at the factory, hoping to do business with Underworld.

Though Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) is disappointed when he hears Carla has to go to Harrogate to meet someone from Lucas’ firm, it’s something he can get over; but that’s not the end of the story for Carla.

Lucas promises he is only in Weatherfield for business when he appears at the factory, but as the pair go over their strategy for maximising sales and getting the most out of their collaboration, and Peter approaches with flowers for Carla, there could be trouble on the horizon for the pair.

Later on in the week, Peter speaks to Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), filling him in on his concerns about Carla and Lucas’ potential rekindling of their romance.

His suspicions get the better of him, so he takes to the factory floor to accuse her of spending another night with Lucas; but is getting the wrong end of the stick? And if so, will he end up pushing Carla into Lucas’ arms through his fury?

Meanwhile, Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is still struggling to escape her troubled past with Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew), and when one of her customers asks if Geoff is available so that they can book his magic act, she flees the restaurant after her past comes flooding back to her.

Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine) mother Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) suggests that removing all traces of Geoff from the restaurant may help Yasmeen move on, but in doing so, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) finds a pile of letters, all unopened and demanding payment before the bailiffs move in.

With time having run out, Alya does her best to insist that the debts secured against Yasmeen aren’t actually her responsibility to pay, but it does nothing to dissuade the bailiffs from trying to secure the cash.

Suggesting that the sale of the community centre may be the right move to make, Yasmeen refuses and instead looks for items that she could sell, such as an old jewellery box.

Fortunately, the bailiffs do allow Yasmeen to agree to a repayment plan, which leads to a meeting with her bank manager. Suffering a panic attack during the meet-up however, Yasmeen flees after becoming convinced that the man she’s talking to is in fact Geoff returned from the grave.

All of this and more from another wild week on the cobbles!

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
