The soap star has opened up on her cobbles alter ego and admitted she wants her to find stability in the future, whether that's from a career or "long-term relationship".

She told Inside Soap magazine: "I'd love to see her happy, whether it's getting her dream job or a long-term relationship.

"I'd like her to have something that's always there, so no matter what is happening, she always has something to fall back on..."

Asha is in a tough position, caught between partner Corey and her dad Dev, played by Jimmi Harkishin.

He's already made it clear that Dev is not welcome in their lives, which puts Asha in a difficult position.

Giving romantic advice to her character, Tanisha said: "I'd tell Asha to write a pros and cons list for her relationship with Corey.

"She's taking a lot of big steps at the moment, and I'd advise her to think about them with a clear head.

"I'd also want her to speak to someone about her relationship with Dev, because most of this is her doing what her dad doesn't want her to do.

"Asha's acting out of pure spite, and it's putting her in awful positions."

And the actress suggested Asha isn't over Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), which plays into her romance with Corey.

She added: "I don't think it even really matters to Asha who she is in a relationship with, she's just so desperate to be loved.

"Corey is always there, so it makes him the perfect candidate. Deep down, she knows she still feels something for Nina.

"Asha really liked her because she was so unique and helped her find herself. She'd be happier with Nina, but that just isn't a possibility."
