The 60-year-old actress has played the part of Eileen Grimshaw on ITV1 soap opera 'Coronation Street' since 2000 but will reportedly be swapping the cobbles for the BBC Two reality show that sees famous faces of different faiths go on a tackle a medieval pilgrimage.

According to the outlet, Sue will be seen alongside an all-star lineup that includes Christine McGuinness when it hits screens in 2024.

The last series featured the likes of 'Geordie Shore' legend Vicky Pattison, 'Hi-De-Hi' star Su Pollard, and former 'EastEnders' actress Rita Simons as they followed the northern route of the Fatima Way.

Towards the end of last year, Sue - who had small roles in Kay Mellor's 'Band of Gold' and Victoria Wood's 'Dinnerladies' before landing her signature role as cab office worker Eileen - stepped away from the cobbles to compete in 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' and in August became a guest panellist on lunchtime chat show 'Loose Women'.

The soap star revealed upon turning 60 that she was looking forward to taking on "new challenges" in her next decade but insisted that while she had lost some weight in the jungle, she was not "obsessed" with taking on fad diets.

She told Prima magazine: "I lost some weight in the jungle, but I’m not obsessing over diets: life is hard enough! There’s always going to be outside pressure and unfair expectations placed on women, but I refuse to get pulled into it.

"My 50s have been the happiest decade of my life. I’m happy with me and where I am, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the next decade brings.

"Then again, if it doesn’t bring anything, I’m just going to have to make something happen myself. Since doing I’m A Celeb, my eyes have been opened to all these new experiences. Now, I’m just thinking, 'Right, what’s my next challenge?'"
