The 28-year-old star - who plays Lola Pearce on the BBC One soap - loves working with her on-screen daughter Isabella (Lexi Pearce), and the youngster has the "same sass" as Maisie (Tiffany Butcher-Baker) did when she first started out on the show.

When asked if she is having fun working with Isabella, she said: "I could go on about her all day.

"She is amazing - and such a little Mitchell.

"Isabella really reminds me of Maisie Smith at the same age. I'm so proud of Maisie right now watching her on 'Strictly', and I remember her running around the set when she was younger.

"Isabella has the same sass as Maisie back then. She's a star in the making."

Danielle would love to share more screen time with Letitia Dean (Sharon Mitchell), and thinks it would be "interesting" if Sharon reconciled with her estranged husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to increase the number of women in the Mitchell household.

She said: "It's a house full of men, so I don't know how Lola is living there.

"We need to get some more Mitchell women involved. I loved it, though.

"I do miss Tish. She was Lola's saving grace in that house.

"It'd be really interesting if Phil got back with Sharon, or had a new love interest. It's been a while for Phil."

However, things could be set to go wrong for Lola in the relationship department, months after she cheated on Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) with Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) and such secrets are unlikely to stay buried in Soapland.

But Danielle hopes it wouldn't mean she would spend less time working with Jamie if the characters split.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, she added: "I love working with Jamie. The characters would still be part of Phil's family, though, so we'd have those scenes."
