Netflix has announced that Formula 1: Drive to Survive is being renewed for a fifth and sixth season on the platform.

The series has become more and more prevalent over time, with Season 4 of the show being the most popular by far; it attracted the most views for the show in general and made its way onto the Top 10 in over 50 countries.

Formula 1 racing started back in 1950, and is now the world’s most respected motor racing competition, in addition to it being the most popular yearly sporting series.

Each year, fans celebrate the start of the Formula 1 season with friends and family, as they watch their favourite racers speed their way to victory, or in some cases, shocking defeat.

Season 5 of the show, which is being filmed at the moment, will offer incredible access to fans, and take them behind the scenes in order to see, first-hand, how the drivers and their dedicated teams prepare for battle.

Fans will see how preparations are made for the 2022 and 2023 championships, giving audiences unprecedented access to their favourite sports and competitors.

The new season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive will show fans never-before-seen footage, as well as exciting interviews, from Formula 1’s biggest and most impressive names.

The show began in March of 2019, and currently has four seasons under its belt. The season stands among a whole load of other content that highlights motor sports, but it seems to remain on the surface for many sports fans, and Netflix appears to be the perfect place for it.

Season 5 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive is currently shooting, and is set to land on the popular streaming service sometime in 2023
