The highly-anticipated fourth season of Netflix original series Formula 1: Drive to Survive is right around and the corner and, to whet our appetites ahead of its debut, the streaming platform has dropped a first-look trailer showcasing exactly what we can expect from the batch of new episodes.

Offering unprecendented, raw access, behind the scenes of one of the world's most competitive sports, fans will be able to witness first-hand exactly how drivers and their teams prepare to battle it out for victory on some of the most exhilarating tracks in the world, in some of the most dramatic seasons to-date.

Both rookies and veterans will race against one another in a bid to reach the peak of their sport, and some of the biggest names from the world of F1 will offer interviews to the series, as well as never-before-seen footage that can help audiences pick apart the fierce rivalries and unexpected podiums in recent memory.

With an intense fight between Mercedes and Red Bull at the centre, the pressure reaches an all-time high both on and off the grid; but have we ever really gotten the full story? If not, we're about to.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Gay-Rees serves as executive producer on the series, alongside Paul Martin for Box to Box Films.

Even those who couldn't be less interested in the goings-on of F1 should give Drive to Survive a chance. It's not just a show about the sport, but about the personalities behind it and, the passion that each of those driving and who are a part of the various teams have for the sport.

Though you may not think you'll be able to relate to those sorts of people, if you yourself don't have a love for Formula 1 racing, you'll be surprised to find there are more connections than expected.
