The seventh season of Game Of Thrones is right around the corner, with the critically-acclaimed, award-winning HBO fantasy series finally making its return. Just what should we expect from the season 7 premiere, though? According to EW’s spoiler room, there’s going to be a “major character meet-up”.

Reporter Natalie Abrams teased: “Well, everything is being kept tightly under wraps – seriously, most of the photos that have been released are actually just from the premiere, so don’t make assumptions about the whole season based on those alone. But I will say that Dany’s journey to Dragonstone won’t be easy given that Euron is out there looking for her, and you can expect at least one major character meet-up in the first hour.”
Exactly who those characters may be is still up for discussion, but the biggest bet is that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will be coming into contact sooner rather than later. With the discovery last season that the two are related, could we see a happy family reunion? We doubt it.
If not that pair, Jon and Sansa Stark could reunite with their sister Arya Stark, in a meeting that’s been a long time coming. It would be a brilliant stroke of nostalgia to see the three on screen together again, plotting to take down all those who have wronged them.
Whatever the case may be, the return of Game of Thrones is going to be one of the biggest television moments of the year.
Game of Thrones season 7 premieres on July 16 on HBO in the US and on July 17 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
