The 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' camp may be inundated with flesh-eating spiders.

The reality show's Australian jungle location in Murwillumba, New South Wales, has been hit by deadly white-tailed spiders, whose bites cause flesh to disintegrate and in some cases can lead to death, which has sparked concerns for the celebrity contestants lined up for the show.

Alistair Hills, who is the chief RSPCA inspector for Murwillumbah and regularly visits the camp, told the Daily Star newspaper: "I know you have been having problems with false widows in the UK but I am more concerned with white-tailed spiders. It's a spider with a potentially nasty outcome."

A spokesman for Eco Pest Management, which aims to control spider invasions in the area, added: "They are nasty flesh-eaters."

Show hosts Ant and Dec are set to be briefed about how to deal with the creatures and medics will be on site in case of any issues.

An ITV spokeswoman said: "Trained medics are always on hand."

What's more, temperatures in the jungle are set to hit a scorching 50 degrees Celsius during this year's series, which begins in mid-November.

Several stars are rumoured to be part of the line-up this year including 'Emmerdale' actress Lucy Pargeter - who plays barmaid Chas Spencer - 'The Only Way Is Essex' hunk Joey Essex and The Wright Stuff's Matthew Wright.

Other contestants linked to the show include former 'Apprentice' winner Stella English and 'Big Brother' housemate and Irish model Hazel O'Sullivan.
