James Arthur warns people to 'p*** off' after Masked Singer speculation

People had speculated that the former 'X Factor' star was Rhino on the show but after he was revealed to be Charlie Simpson and crowned as winner on Saturday (18.02.23), James implored people to "p*** off" and leave him alone.

He wrote on Twitter: "Charlie Simpson I’d know that voice anywhere. One of the best out there #maskedsinger now everyone p*** off and leave me alone."

Meanwhile, Busted star Charlie, 37, admitted he never expected to win.

He said: "I never expected to win, to be honest, but I just wanted to give it my best. I had no idea who I was actually up against and didn’t really hear the other people sing as we were kept away from each other during filming.

"I was very happy when they called my name. I have never been in a singing competition before so I found the whole thing quite surreal.

"It was sad to say goodbye to Rhino. You grow quite attached to your character during the show as you spend so much time with the costume.

"Sometimes I’d just be on my own in the dressing room waiting for my performance slot and have his face just staring back at me."

Charlie beat off strong competition from former All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, who was revealed to be Fawn and Kaiser Chiefs front-man Ricky Wilson, who was unmasked as Phoenix.
