Jay McGuinness is still asked to perform his Strictly routines in public

The Wanted star, 32, won the BBC Latin and ballroom competition in 2015 alongside professional dancer Aliona Vilani and revealed that members of the public still request him to perform a routine he performed on the show that was once voted the "greatest 'Strictly' moment of all time" in an audience poll.

He said: "I can't tell you how many times people in a pub have come and asked me to do the jive! If I try, I end up doing more of a twist, which is quite pathetic! I need a very talented, focused Russian girl to whip me round the room. I can't tell you how many times I'm out in a pub and people come up and say, 'Do the jive!' And I really can't do anything other than those two fingers in front of my face! As long as I do that, they join in."

Meanwhile, the 'Glad You Came' hitmaker went on to add that he is sporadically watching this year's edition on 'Strictly Come Dancing' - which features the likes of 'Blue Peter' presenter Helen Skelton, former 'Coronation Street' actress Kym Marsh and 'Sax' songstress Fleur East - but explained that he is rooting for 'Countryfile' presenter Hamza Yassin because he is what the British public "love" in a contestant.

He told Metro newspaper's SixtySeconds column: "[I'm watching] bits and bobs. My favourite is Hamza [Yassin]. He's what British people love in a contestant. He works hard, he's friendly and not too full of himself. He went straight into my heart."
