The former 'Coronation Street' actress - who confirmed she has been self isolating - has urged her Twitter followers to not to "attack one another" as the UK deals with the ongoing crisis.

She wrote: "These are scary times. For everyone. Hopefully this lock down will work and people make the right choices.

"There is a lot of uncertainty and also anger right now from lots of people I just hope people can unite rather than attack one another. Stay safe all x (sic)"

The 43-year-old star's comments come after she sought clarification following the UK prime minister Boris Johnson's comments on Sunday (23.03.20) regarding people being told not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary.

She responded: "I'm done with the hate on here! I'm off for a break from the absolute poison here!

"At times like this you would expect help and support, instead you get hatred spite and nastiness. I'm off! Enjoy!"

Kym also told online trolls to take their "nasty heads off" as she pointed out everyone is dealing with the same thing right now.

She tweeted: "Again the amount of ABUSE I've had tonight because I've asked a simple question, which by the look of it LOTS of people are asking!

"I'm SICK of the abuse on here! To all the selfish idiots we're ALL going through the same terrifying s**t! For once take your nasty heads off!"

The former soap star recently pulled out of 'The One Show' after coming down with symptoms of the respiratory illness.

She explained: "I've had to cancel some work. I was supposed to co-host 'The One Show', but it would have been very irresponsible of me to travel there even if I had been feeling well enough."
