The 'Coronation Street' actress is currently holidaying on a yacht with her partner Scott Ratcliff and a group of their friends but she won't be taking part in any of their games in the sea because of a bad experience when she was a child.
She wrote in her column for OK! magazine: "The boys are enjoying the water sports and Scott loved being pulled behind a boat on this big inflatable sofa.
"It's my idea of hell!
"I have a fear of putting my head under water after being dragged beneath the waves on holiday as a 10 year old.
"I can swim but I'm not a strong swimmer so I've been chilling out on deck."
Although Kym - who has children David, 24, Emilie, 21, and Polly, eight, from previous relationships - is missing her youngest daughter in particular, she's enjoying being in the company of adults though she insisted I isn't a romantic break for her and her partner.
She said: "I miss Polly but it's so nice to come away with other couples for a change.
"I can't say it's ever so romantic for me and Scott with 10 other people on the boat but it's been lovely to spend some time together before we both go back to work."
And the 42-year-old star has been enjoying the "luxurious" accommodation.
She said: "The yacht is really luxurious. We have a chef, a captain, and two deck hands on board.
"During one of our stops, we went to a restaurant called La Guerite, where people were dancing on tables."
