The 34-year-old former footballer - who previously played for the likes of Manchester City and Aston Villa - splashes out £200 to his barber for a cut because he wants to "look fly".

When asked on CBS' Champions League coverage this week how often he gets his hair cut, he replied: "Three times a week."

Presenter Kate Abdo then revealed Micah flew his own barber out to Qatar during last year's football World Cup, at which the star was a pundit.

He said: "Of course I did. I've got to look fly."

Asked how much his barber costs, he said: "£200 a time. When I say the most, like I'll get a trim tomorrow for the Champions League and I'm working the weekend so I'll get a trim.

"He did it today. I've got to get a sharpen up tomorrow. I have to pay it".

He then joked: "I should be putting it through expenses shouldn't I?"

Micah's shocked fellow pundit Thierry Henry asked him what the "purpose" of his multiple haircuts it.

He replied: "I've go to look sharp. When you look good you're able to perform."

Thierry replied: "You said you need to look fly ... not like one."

While that would work out at £31,200 a year if Micah had three haircuts every week of the year, he insisted it is more like 40 weeks a year, when the football season is on.

So, it is more likely he spends around £24,000 on haircuts.
