The 'Three Girls' star and the former 'Coronation Street' actress will join forces for the upcoming psychological thriller, which will be executive produced by 'This Missing' creators Harry and Jack Williams via their Two Brothers Pictures company.

The 20-year-old BAFTA winner - who scooped the Best Leading Actress prize at this year's awards - will play a student who has a dangerous relationship with her teacher, played by 38-year-old Katherine.

The four-part miniseries will tell the story of what at first appears to be straight-forward academic deception, but the situation spirals out of control into a devastating sequence of events which threatens to engulf both of the lead characters.

Polly Hill, ITV's drama chief, said: "'Cheat' is a fiendishly engaging four part drama which I'm delighted to commission from screenwriting newcomer, Gaby Hull.

"It's a tense and taut thriller packed with intriguing plot that promises to have audiences on the edge of their seat.

"I'm thrilled we'll be working with Two Brothers Pictures on this series."

The cast also features 'Humans' star Tom Goodman-Hill, 'Silent Witness' actress Lorraine Ashbourne and Victoria's Peter Firth.

Harry and Jack Williams said: "'Cheat' is a gripping and brilliantly written drama debut, and we're delighted to be working with Gaby bringing this story to the screen."

The drama went into production earlier this year.

Molly's BAFTA win was for her role as Holly in 'Three Girls', a drama surrounding the Rochdale child sex abuse scandal.

Upon receiving the award, she said: "'Three Girls' was born out of the courage of the real three girls, and the real Holly, Amber and Ruby who told their story over and over and over and told it again to us.

"I just want to say thank you for recognising how selfless that is and how brave that is."
