An epic new seven-part Western is coming to Netflix a little later this year, from Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated screenwriter and director Scott Frank, alongside award-winning Steven Soderbergh and executive producer Casey Silver. The original limited series, called Godless, stars some big names in its leading roles such as Jack O’Connell and Michelle Dockery, and this week a new teaser trailer and poster have been released, which you can check out below:

Coming to Netflix this November

Viewers will meet notorious criminal Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels) in the series; a man who leads a gang of outlaws on a mission of revenge against Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell) who betrayed the brotherhood, despite once being a son-like protégé to Frank. On the run and afraid for his life, Roy seeks refuge with widower Alice Fletcher (Michelle Dockery); another outcast who lives in the worn-down mining town of La Belle, NM.

Governed mainly by women, the town quickly learns that Griffin is headed their way, but instead of handing over Goode, they band together and commit to defending the landscape from the murderous gang headed their way. Without laws and free to do as they please to protect their land, it’s never been truer to say that anything could happen.

Joining the cast comes an ensemble of stellar talent including Merritt Wever, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Jeremy Bobb, Scott McNairy, Sam Waterston and Kim Coates.

With these being marketed as a limited series, we shouldn’t expect any continuation of the story in the future, and whilst that may come as a disappointment to those who really enjoy what’s on offer next month when it makes its debut, it also means we’ll be getting the beginning, middle and end of the story immediately. Binging this one is definitely going to be on the cards for millions of streamers across the globe.

All seven episodes of Godless will be available on Netflix from November 22, 2017.
