Home makeover shows may have passed their prime, with many viewers more interested in dating or reality shows. However, in the 90s, Changing Rooms was highly popular and it seems that it’s making a comeback in an exciting way.

Changing Rooms with Dulux will see the original show rebooted and all dressed up; the series will receive a makeover as more couples try their best at home improvement.

The original show ran on BBC between 1996 and 2004, but now Channel 4 is taking over the series for its revamp.

Anna Richardson will be hosting the new series, and we will see the return of interior design legend, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Changing Rooms with Dulux will introduce two brand-new designers to the fray; Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead of 2LG Studio, along with carpenter and joiner Tibby Singh who completes the team.

The upcoming reboot will see two sets of homeowners work against the clock in a six-part series in order to renovate a room in each others’ houses.

The couples will work with either Laurence or Jordan and Russell to bring a fresh and new appearance to the room chosen by the homeowner. With each designer having a bold and unique taste in style, there will surely be disagreements and potentially shocking design choices.

Each transformation will be innovative, surprising, and could be a success or disaster as everyone has their own style: what could go wrong?

The upcoming new series is set to be fun and exciting, as paint colours are chosen, furniture is picked, and hours worth of work could be cause for chaos if the homeowners don’t like what they see.

With the competing couples living in the same neighbourhood, they can only hope that the other pair have created a stunning space, otherwise there may be tears, tantrums and regret; which can sometimes be what makes a show entertaining.

Channel 4 will be partnering with paint brand Dulux to bring viewers an even better version of its namesake; the 90s show spanned 10 seasons suggesting it was widely popular. Can the rebranded series match up to the success of its predecessor?

Changing Rooms with Dulux will premiere on Channel 4 and All 4 on August 18th, 2021 at 8pm; the first episode will be taking place in Swansea, Wales.
