New movies and TV shows are releasing in abundance this year (2022), with the Avatar sequel on its way, and tomorrow (May 13th, 2022) marking the release of new series The Essex Serpent. Next month (June, 2022), however, also welcomes a returning series...
P-Valley is coming back with more ferocity than ever with its second season, which will premiere early next month only on Starzplay.
A brand new trailer was released yesterday (May 11th, 2022) to celebrate the launch of the show, and it seems that each and every character has more than a little fight left in them.
The first season of P-Valley debuted in 2020, leaving a rather large gap between the first and second season, but hopefully that won’t matter as fans seem eager to see what the characters have been up to.
Season 2 sees a completely new side to Pynk, a strip club in the fictional town of Chucalissa, Mississippi, which struggles to keep its doors open and customers coming in the middle of a pandemic, as well as a war for the throne, and new blood causing a possible problem in the locker room.
The upcoming season allows audiences even more access than before, as the show delves even deeper into the lives of the club’s characters, just as darkness appears to be descending on Chucalissa.
Returning characters include Nicco Annan (This is Us) as Uncle Clifford, Elarica Johnson (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) as Autumn Night, Brandee Evans (The Bobby Brown Story) as Mercedes, Shannon Thornton (Power) as Miss Mississippi, J. Alphonse Nicholson (Chicago P.D.) as Lil’ Murda, and Parker Sawyers (Southside With You) as Andre.
Recently announced stars are John Clarence Stewart (What If) as Big Teak, newcomer Miracle Watts as Big Bone, Shamika Cotton (The Wire) as Farrah, Gail Bean (Snowfall) as Roulette and Psalms Salazar (Girl Lost: A Hollywood Thriller) also joins the cast as Whisper.
P-Valley is based on the play Pussy Valley, written by Katori Hall, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer.
Season 2 of P-Valley is set to premiere exclusively on Starzplay on June 3rd, 2022.
