As we all know, this year (2022) is a very busy one for both films and TV, with Marvel’s Moon Knight releasing today (March 30th, 2022), and a second season of Disney+ series Only Murders in the Building releasing soon. However, the platform has even more up its sleeve...

Pistol is an upcoming, limited drama series that is set to premiere on Disney+ this May, and will focus on the legendary guitarist, Steve Jones

The show will be based on the guitarist’s memoir from 2017, titled Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol. Pistol was created and written by Craig Pearce, and will be executive produced by Boyle, Pearce, Tracey Seaward, Gail Lyon, Anita Camarata, Steve Jones, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and wiip. The series is produced by FX Productions.

Pistol will consist of six episodes, and centers around rock and roll revolution. At the centre of this loud, raging storm, is the Sex Pistols, and even further into the chaos, is Jones.

Jones is both the founding member and guitarist for the Sex Pistols, lending even more interest towards the forthcoming series.

Jones’ journey goes through comedy, emotions, and also heartbreak as the series takes audiences through a detailed telling of three of the most chaotic, thrilling and epic years in the history of music.

Taking a (literal) page out of Jones’ memoir, which you can purchase on Amazon, Pistol is the story of a band of spotty, noise, working-class kids who were deemed to have ‘no future’, who went on to shake the world of music to its core, and not only bring down the government, but also change music culture forever.
