The lineup for this year's star-studded event has been unveiled, with the 'Maggie May' legend and 'Someone You Loved' hitmaker featured on the bill, and the event will be co-hosted by Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

The duo are two of the UK's best loved comics, and they will become the first comedy pairing in over 30 years to be at the helm of the long-running entertainment extravaganza at the London Palladium on November 18.

Rob said: "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be hosting the 'Royal Variety Performance' with one of my best friends and best comedians in the country Romesh Ranganathan.

"My mum and dad love Rod Stewart more than me and can't wait to see him perform. Fingers crossed they will stay and watch me and Rom host the rest of the show once Rod has finished his set."

Co-host Romesh quipped: "It is obviously amazing to be asked to host the 'Royal Variety Performance'.

"Being asked to do so alongside Rob Beckett is both exciting as well as slightly taking the gloss off the honour."

The audience - which includes members of the Royal Family - will also be treated to the West End cast of 'Mary Poppins', composer Harry Connick Jr., 'Britain's Got Talent' champion Colin Thackery and Hollywood star Luke Evans.

Comedy duo Flo and Joan will be there, too, with Mabel and the 'Come From Away' musical cast joined on the bill by Cirque Du Soleil's Luzia, the West End production 'Grown Ups', Frank Skinner, Kerry Godliman and a collaboration between Emeli Sandé and Manchester's Bee Vocal choir.

Giles Cooper, chairman of the Royal Variety Charity, added: "The Royal Variety Charity is grateful to all the performers who are giving their time freely to support the charity at our main fundraising event of the year.

"The Royal Variety Performance enables the charity to continue our work supporting those within the entertainment industries throughout the United Kingdom and to maintain our residential and care home, Brinsworth House, in Twickenham."

The Royal Variety Performance will take place on November 18, and the show will air on ITV in December.
