Sally Dynevor was an extra on 'The Village'.

The 51-year-old actress - who has played Sally Webster in 'Coronation Street' for 18 years - unexpectedly landed the minor role in the BBC drama after she paid her daughter Phoebe a visit on set.

Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine' this morning (07.08.14), Phoebe - who plays Phoebe Rundle - said: "She came on set a couple of times - she was so excited! She's actually a background artist - she was amazing, great!

"I think she's just excited - it was just exciting for her, I really wanted to show her ... and to be a part of it."

Phoebe's co-star Tom Varey - who plays Bert - added: "She [Sally] stole the scene actually I think!"

Meanwhile, the youngster - whose father is also in the television industry as a scriptwriter - revealed she isn't opposed to starring in a soap like her mother.

When asked if she ever would, she said: "Maybe, yes, it's a possibility, never say never."

However, unlike Phoebe, Tom's family are not in the acting business and he admits his relatives were stunned when he landed a main part in the show.

He said: "I think [my family are] still in shock actually! [I think they wanted me to be] a builder or something probably! This is completely unheard of in my family so everyone is over the moon for me.

"I'm getting texts every second of the day from people saying how proud they are of me, so it's really lovely - they've been really supportive."
