The 22-year-old actress played the role of Faye Windass on 'Coronation Street' but left the ITV1 soap opera in 2023 after more than a decade on the show and after going on to win the latest edition of 'Strictly Come Dancing', is "so excited" to be starring in the upcoming reality show.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I’m so excited about 'Drama Queens'. People are so used to seeing me play the character Faye Windass and I’m just so excited for everyone to see who I am and what goes on in my day-to-day life as just Ellie."

The ITVBe series - which is set to launch in the spring - will focus on the everyday lives of women who have starred in 'Coronation Street' as well as the broadcaster's other soap opera 'Emmerdale'.

A source said: “Ellie proved to be hugely popular on 'Strictly' and ITV think she’ll be a hit on this fly-on-the-wall series.

“Along with the other actresses, Ellie is inviting fans to have an insight into what her life is really like.

Soaps are absolutely massive in the UK and get over 10 million people tuning in each week so ITV think this could be huge."

Ellie's cousin Brooke Vincent - who played Sophie Webster from 2004 until 2019 - will give viewers a glimpse into her home life with Kean Bryan and their children Mexx, three, and two-year-old Monroe.

She said: “I am excited to show the authentic side of having small children whilst trying to navigate my way back into the acting world.

“Drama Queens allows me to showcase the reality of trying to find the work-home life balance of a young actress in what can seem a glamorous world.”

Meanwhile, Lucy Fallon - who recently returned to her role of Bethany Platt on 'Coronation Street' after four years away - welcomed Sonny Jude in January 2023 with footballer Ryan Ledson wants viewers to see how she balances her career with motherhood.

She said: "I’m excited for viewers to see a real ‘behind the scenes’ of my chaotic life as an actress and a first-time mum!"

Other stars lined up to take part in the series include Amy Walsh - who has played Tracy Robinson on 'Emmerdale' for a decade - and her co-stars Roxy Shahidi and Laura Norton, who play Leyla Hardi and Kerry Wyatt respectively, along with 'Hollyoaks' actress Jorgie Porter, who is known for starring as Theresa McQueen on the Channel 4 soap.
