The 46-year-old TV star and TV presenter Tess, 51, spent £1.5 million to acquire a redbrick property in Buckinghamshire in 2018 and had planned to demolish it and build their own dream property - but they are now said to have scrapped those ideas, despite managing to secure planning permission for their ambition.

According to the Daily Mail newspaper’s Sebastian Shakespeare column, the couple - who have daughters Phoebe, 16, and Amber, 11 - enlisted Urban Curve Architecture, a firm that specialises in "bespoke, one-off houses", and were determined to create an "energy-efficient family dwelling".

But Audrey Lambert, one of their neighbours, had voiced her concerns about the plans.

She said: "The basement extension will require significant ground works into the chalk hillside, requiring significant removal of existing trees and shrubbery ... which screen the neighbouring properties."

It's also been claimed the plans would've had an adverse impact on local wildlife, especially the area's badger population.

She wrote: "The Badger Protection Act of 1992 makes it illegal to 'intentionally or recklessly damage or destroy a badger sett, or obstruct access to it'."

Vernon appeared on 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' last year, and in January, he admitted he was still struggling to adjust to a regular diet after starring on the show.

The TV presenter shed two-and-a-half stone during his three-week stint on the ITV show and he admitted it was tough to return to a normal diet.

He said: "[I'm] drinking pots of tea, loads of milk, loads of ice cream, trying to fatten myself back up again.

"My stomach has gone, ‘Woah, we were enjoying it with no lactose, no gluten, it was awesome, we were living in sync with each other’. It’s taking some time to adjust."
