The 35-year-old former soccer star was crowned the so-called Queen of the Jungle in November - but Jill admits that winning the Euros with England in the summer is still her highlight of the last 12 months.

Jill - who announced her retirement in August - explained: "People ask me, 'What means more, the Euros or being Queen of the Jungle?'

"The Euros was something I worked my a*** off for every single day of my 16 years of playing for England. It was the best moment of my life, getting that gold medal and now, to know I’ve retired with women's football in such a better place, if you’ve contributed even one percent, then that fills my heart with joy.

"Nothing can beat the Euros win, but I guess the jungle has been the icing on the cake."

Jill was previously congratulated on her Euros success by Prince William, and she revealed that he's always been "really supportive" of the England team.

She told HELLO! magazine: "I've met him a lot over the years, and he is always really supportive and genuine, and he's so knowledgeable about the game."

Meanwhile, Jill previously admitted that her sporting background was a big help during her time in the jungle.

The former England midfielder explained how team work helped the campmates to survive the challenges they faced.

Speaking about her approach towards one trial in particular, she said: "Being involved in sport, it's not about being involved at an elite level; it's about learning how to win and how to lose, helping others.

"I am scared of heights myself but I saw Charlene [White] needed me in that moment."
