Lisa Vanderpump

Lisa Vanderpump

"Elegance is learned, my friends" sang Countess LuAnn De Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York franchise, and it seems she would be correct.

As Brandi Glanville continues in her crusade to take down former BFFL Lisa Vanderpump, we're left wondering just who's telling the truth - if anybody - and why wires got crossed so intensely this season.

Always one to cheer on the underdog, I immediately warmed to Brandi when she joined the Housewives lineup, especially when she was attacked by both Kyle and Kim Richards during 'Mean Girls Game Night' back in season two.

It seemed to be only Lisa who would give this young girl a chance, and though she couldn't keep a filter on what she had to say, her murky and undesirable past kept me cheering her on.

Now, with a bestselling book to her name (and a second, though not at the time of filming), she's turned against the woman who took her under her wing and decided she'll do whatever it takes in a bid to claw herself to the top - at least from my point of view.

As they all keep reminding Lisa, she's an extremely smart woman, so just exactly why would she ask Brandi at a time where microphones and cameras were lurking round every corner to bring tabloid magazines to Puerta Rico simply to embarrass Kyle Richards and her husband Mauricio Umansky? And more to the point, why does Brandi have these magazines in the first place?

Though we've not yet reached that step in the explosive three-part reunion, the ladies are beginning to join forces and take shots at Lisa, as well as the sweet and gracious Joyce Giraud.

Honestly, that woman has done nothing wrong yet continues to be some of the ladies' punching bag, as Yolanda Foster takes cheap shots and admits she'd hate to be married to the former beauty queen, and Brandi attacks her outfit, saying she'd look better ice skating for the Winter Olympics. Unnecessary and childish.

Yolanda may continue to act above it all, but when her claws come out and she attempts to be smart in the way she throws out her insults, it's clear to see her true colours. She can continue to insinuate that it was an "embarrassing mistake" when she did hearts on some of the ladies' namecards and not others, but it was quite obviously a calculated move to divide up the group, and a tasteless one at that.

Kim thanked the show for helping her reach the place where she is today, and Lisa is questioned about the comments she made about Kim's choice of praying next to a trash can. Strangely, they seem to gloss over and skip the part where Kyle also commented "she's praying to a trash can" and laughed along with the other women. It is once again, all Lisa's fault in the eyes of this group (with the exception of Carlton and perhaps Joyce at times).

Zoning out for a lot of the show because of the repeated cycle of - there's a problem, blame Lisa, laugh off anything that other people have done wrong, and repeat - I'm not sure if I can sit through another two reunion shows, and I doubt they're all be hugging at the end of it all as Andy envisioned.

What I do look forward to is the arrival of Ken. He's a fantastic husband who looks after his wife and will protect her no matter what. Exactly what a husband should be, and if the other wives have a problem with that, well... that's on them.
