American Idol

American Idol

This is “American Idol” With only one semi-final round in season 10, will see the field of 24 being cut to 13 after Thursday’s results show, and with only five men are guaranteed spots in that group, there are set to be some surprise eliminations this week.

Jovany Barreto choose “I'll Be,” probably not his best decision as the song didn't give him a lot to impress the voters with, while Jordan Dorsey’s decision to sing Usher, was a complete disaster and he looks to have left himself vulnerable. Tim Halperin's choice of a Rob Thomas  cover again may not have been his best choice but saying that Jennifer Lopez still remained firmly in his corner remarking "You're one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.”

Interestingly this seasons judges don't appear to care who the public should vote for so that guidance left when Simon Cowell left, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson remained impressed by all.

Impressed By:

James Durbin with a cover of Judas Priest's - “You've Got Another Thing Comin’,” performed with verve and energy, isn't he another Adam Lambert he is our 'one to watch' and an early tip to win.

Jacob Lusk, covered Luther Vandross a good performance but did Ms Lopez really need to say, “(Luther’s) gone. But now we have you.” Pass the sick bags.

Brett Loewenstern - “Light My Fire” Jim Morrison, Robbie Rosen’s “Angel”, and Scotty McCreery “Letters From Home,”, should be safe and avoid the cut more because they fill the teenage vote criteria, as none of them could say they put on a performance last night.

Outsider's

Clint Jun Gamboa, Paul McDonald and Stefano Langone all looked slightly off the mark each with reasons to be confident but by the same each has reason to worry.

Gamboa kicked the show of with “Superstition,” putting in an OK performance but going on at number one did him no favours.

McDonald's “Maggie May” was a better rendition sounding like a good Rod Stewart cover but he added a uniqueness that helped him, but was it enough?.

Langone - Bruno Mars “Just the Way You are.” his performance pleased the judges, then again so did everyone.
