The celebrities were surprised today in Camp when they received letters of support from their loved ones.

As the camp mates sat eagerly around the fire, David informed the group that they would all receive a letter and this would be read out by one of their fellow celebrities. First up was David who read a letter to Brian from his fiancée Petter. David began reading the letter but chose to put on an accent. ‘This means a lot to people, we’ve been here a long time, read it properly,’ snapped Joe. Losing the accent he read ‘I’m proud of everything you’ve done...the way you look after your camp mates proves to the world that I’m the luckiest man alive because I have you.’ On hearing this Brian broke down in tears.

And the tears began to flow for all of the celebrities as they all found each others letters emotional. Nicola went to collect a letter for Martina written by her agent and friend Barbara, which said ‘We love watching you, kick butt and keeping everyone in line. Head up, knockers out, you go girl, you rock.’

Next up was Martina who read a letter to George from his husband Brad, breaking down in tears as she read ‘I do not know when you will emerge from the jungle but I do know I will be waiting to embrace you in my arms. Until that glorious moment keep your spirits up by singing your new favourite song.’ George lightened he mood of Camp when he then broke into a rendition of Olly, olly, olly.

Simon received a surprise when his letter was read out by Brian, unaware that girlfriend Layla was coming out to meet him, she started the letter with ‘Surprise! I’m in Australia!’ She then went on to write, ‘Remember to be nice to everyone and keep that handsome smile on your face, I fancy you a lot.’

The camp mates all joke that he can’t try and break out of camp now he knows his girlfriend is waiting for him.

George collected a letter for Joe from his mum Kiffy who wrote, ‘Your sisters and all your family and nan are so proud of you. Try not to get anymore ants in your pants. PS. Roast dinner waiting.’ A weeping Joe hugged George and took the note.

Simon read a letter for Nicola from fiancée Tom. As soon Simon started Nicola broke down in tears and an overwhelmed Simon could only read a few words before he too was in tears and had to hand it to Brian who continued, ‘Rocky and I will be waiting at the airport to welcome you back our special jungle Queen.’

Last up was David and it was Joe’s turn to read the letter from his two daughters, Amber and Olivia. They said: ‘Your Bushtucker trials have left us laughing and extremely proud. Hang in there, stay positive and we love you to the moon and back.’ On hearing this David began to sob.
