Joe Swash

Joe Swash and Simon Webbe went head to head in the Trauma Tank Challenge to decide whether the yellow team or the red team were awarded the more comfortable ‘Home’ camp.  The losers would have to make do with the ‘Away camp - a less appealing option.

So instead of being dropped in or paddling to the jungle they had to complete the challenge to gain victory for their respective team.  Joe and Simon had to put their hands into arm sized holes to retrieve small stars.  However, these were guarded by jungle critters - scorpions, eels and rats.

Simon won the first challenge retrieving the star from some eels - although one sprang out of the hole at him.  But Joe did better with the rats.  The scorpions were more of a tricky challenge, as they both attempted to detach the star, Simon was bitten and pulled his hand from the hole and Joe emerged victorious.

This meant that the red team - Joe Swash, Brian Paddick, Martina Navratilova, George Takei and Dani Behr - would stay in the Home Camp, complete with London bus and camp beds whereas the yellow team – Simon Webbe, Robert Kilroy-Silk, Esther Rantzen, Carly Zucker and Nicola McLean - would stay in the rival and less comfortable Away Camp meaning they would sleep on the floor.
