NOTE: Spoilers

Could Tony work Sarah back into his game? / Credit: CBS

What I just witnessed was probably one of the best episodes of Survivor in the show's history - or at least one of the most exciting tribal councils.

With both tribes merged and now forming the newly named 'Solarrion', the divide was still clear with six members of the new Aparri being joined by 5 members of the new Solana on Aparri's beach.

With them they brought everything they'd stolen just three days before (quite a pointless camp raid), and the possibility of shaking things up entirely as suspicions grew around Sarah and her loyalty.

However, Tony knew Sarah had other ideas when she refused to swear he had her vote on her police badge, leaving him a little worried but still convinced that eventually she'd come around.

Unfortunately for him, following Woo's win at the immunity challenge, Tony was her target because of his smart gameplay and charming personality - she wanted him gone - but there was one lady who wasn't quite happy to bow down to this new self-appointed tribe leader.

And so, Chaos Kass was born. Tony admitted to his group that he'd failed in getting Sarah's vote, and so it was Trish's turn to work on Kass following the public spat she had with Sarah earlier that same day.

Putting all the power in Kass' hands, Trish told her that they were on the same page and were also fine with putting Sarah's name down now that they were certain she wasn't going to help them out.

All was up in the air, and as it seemed six votes were going to Tony and five to Sarah, things got a little crazy at tribal council.

Tony outted his hidden immunity idol before the vote had even taken place, and did so in a bid to get the six remaining Aparri members to switch their votes - which they did - but not in the way he expected.

Hearts sank as he played his idol for LJ, and just as Jeff was about to read the votes, LJ's good graces forced him to take out his own hidden immunity idol and cover Tony's back. Sarah was going home. It was a done deal.

Except not. Jeff read the first two votes, and it was suddenly Jefra that the new Aparri members had switched their vote to.

She started shaking and Sarah's face lit up with a moment of joy - she couldn't be going home, right? Wrong.

Chaos Kass had played right into new Solana's hands and flipped. She'd switched her vote to Sarah and usurped her throne, and everybody was left with their mouths wide open - me included.

Tony and LJ punched the air and whooped - though it was still a little embarrassing to see one of their idols go to waste - but still, they remained in the game and numbers seemed to level out.

What will be interesting to see now is what Kass' next move will be. She could in theory go back to her original alliance now that Sarah is out of the way, but they don't seem willing to accept her if Spencer's tribal reaction to her move, and next week's teaser is anything to go by.

If that's the case, the only option is for her to join in for the brand new immunity idol "with special powers" that is up for grabs, but will she be able to piece together the clue the tribe are given next week and claim the idol as her own?

Quote of the week: "I promise you, none of them have the idol" - Sarah, referring to Tony and LJ.

Sarah now makes the first member of the jury, and will have a hand in deciding who walks away from the game with $1 million.
