Orange is the New Black, Viola Davis and Downton Abbey took home some big prizes at this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony.

With the British period drama picking up Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, it beat out some stiff competition in House of Cards, Homeland, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.

Meanwhile, Viola Davis got emotional when she took home Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her outstanding role in How to Get Away with Murder - a prize which she rose above Claire Danes, Julianna Margulies, Tatiana Maslany, Maggie Smith and Robin Wright.

Kevin Spacey was rewarded for his lead role in House of Cards, taking the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series gong, whilst Frances McDormand was given the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries gong for Olive Kitteridge.

Mark Ruffalo took the male prize home for that category for Ryan Murphy's The Normal Heart, and Netflix original series Orange is the New Black beat Veep, Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Big Bang Theory to win Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

That wasn't the only award the OITNB cast saw, with Uzo Aduba taking the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series prize home for her role in the series as Crazy Eyes, and Shameless' William H. Macy taking the male equivalent.
