With the start of a New Year comes the excitement about the return of a bunch of shows that took the world by storm on Netflix. There are so many different types of series on the streaming service that at times, it can be completely overwhelming and you can find yourself mindlessly scrolling through the content for hours on end. So, to help you sort out your next TV marathon, we've put together a list of the 10 best shows making their return to Netflix at some point in 2020. If you haven't seen the seasons already available of the following series, then it's time to get your binge on!

Sex Education: Season 2 - returns January 17th, 2020

This critically-acclaimed comedy will be making a comeback with all of the brilliant members of cast that helped catapult it to such incredible success in its debut season. Amongst them are Gillian Anderson, Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa, Connor Swindells and Patricia Allison.

Moordale Secondary School may have enjoyed the advice of young Otis Milburn (Butterfield) for a term, but that doesn't mean the students are any wiser to the ways of the sexual world. In fact, they look to be more clueless than ever before, but will Otis be ready to reopen the clinic now that his girlfriend Ola (Allison) is a part of the same school system?

Plus, with Adam (Swindells) now sent to military school following his hook-up with Eric (Gatwa) in school detention, the teens are likely going to be forced to confront their confusing feelings for one another, despite being forced to stay so far apart.

There's sure to be no time to relax for the students of Moordale - and indeed the parents of the students - in Sex Education Season 2! Bring it on.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Season 2, Part 1 - returns January 24th, 2020

Kiernan Shipka returns in the role of Sabrina Spellman in this hit Netflix original series. Nothing like the show 90s kids were used to seeing, this is a darker and bleaker, more faithful adaptation of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic books, for which it should be celebrated!

Shipka is joined in the cast by the likes of Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto as Sabrina's aunts Hilda and Zelda Spellman respectively, and Michelle Gomez as Mard Wardwell, aka Lilith, aka Madam Satan!

If the first season was anything to go by, this new offering of Sabrina episodes is going to be one to watch.

BoJack Horseman: Season 6, Part 2 - returns January 31st, 2020

The sixth and final season of animated comedy-drama BoJack Horseman concludes with these final eight episodes, where audiences will discover just where BoJack's life is headed. An incredible voice cast returns, including Will Arnett in the titular role, alongside Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie, Paul F. Tompkins and Aaron Paul.

BoJack Horseman has been celebrated for stunning viewers with its realistic take on topical subjects such as mental health, depression, sexism and bigotry. It's not something you would immediately expect from a series of this type, and so at first takes you by surprise.

The relatability on so many unique levels has allowed audiences to really fall in love with the characters, despite them being a variety of different animated animals!

Narcos: Mexico: Season 2 - returns February 13th, 2020

The Narcos franchise continues with its series set in Mexico, with a second season hitting Netflix in mid-February. Following the chaos and murderous rampages we saw taking place in the show's first outing, we're expecting more of the same bloody mayhem when Diego Luna (Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo) returns.

We're also interested to see how Scoot McNairy will play his role of agent Walt Breslin, after being revealed as the mystery narrator for the entirety of the show's debut season.

Better Call Saul: Season 5 - returns February 24th, 2020

Better Call Saul is expected to be coming to a close with its fifth season, and it's going to be incredibly exciting to see just how the titular character - played brilliantly by Bob Odenkirk - continues to establish his legacy as a criminal lawyer; and a criminal himself!

Tony Dalton has been promoted to the main cast for the fifth season, in the role of Lalo Salamanca, following his appearance in the final three episodes of Season 4. Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mendo and Giancarlo Esposito are all also making a return.

After Life: Season 2 - returns Spring 2020

Following on from his brilliant opening speech at the Golden Globe Awards 2020, Ricky Gervais will be bringing us the second season of his critically-acclaimed series, After Life. The first season was a brilliant balance of emotion and comedy, as we followed the story of a man planning to kill himself following the passing of his wife, who had suffered from cancer.

It sounds like a hugely depressing format, but whilst it is going to bring a tear to your eye at times, it's going to make you laugh a heck of a lot more. Gervais is a stunning writer, and we're sure he'll be bringing the series to another level this year.

Altered Carbon: Season 2 - returns in 2020

Following the success of the first season, Altered Carbon will be making its return with Anthony Mackie taking over the role of Takeshi Kovac, following Joel Kinnaman's Season 1 run. With no release date just yet, we're expecting a debut in late summer, or early autumn.

The Haunting of Bly Manor - debuts in 2020

The Haunting of Hill House is without a doubt one of the most unique and exciting horror series of the modern age. Based on the 50s gothic novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, it was a masterclass in bringing scares to the small screen in extremely intelligent ways. Whilst we've seen the Hill House story reach its conclusion, the series itself will continue with The Haunting of Bly Manor. Bring on the frights!

Ozark: Season 3 - returns in 2020

Having wrapped production late last year (2019), Ozark will be making its comeback with a third season. There will be a time jump after the events of Season 2, so it'll be interesting to see just how far ahead the writers are jumping, and what that means for all of the characters involved.

The Umbrella Academy: Season 2 - returns in 2020

This superhero series is a true piece of art, adapted from the comic book series of the same name, created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. Stunning CGI, writing and performances saw the first season become a huge success, before a massive cliffhanger that has us all wondering exactly where The Umbrella Academy can go next.
