As Liam (Rob James-Collier) struggles to take in what he's just heard, the stalker manages to escape. They return back to the pub and tell a shaken Michelle (Kym Ryder) about the confrontation. Later, Liam admits that theres more to the story than Ryan (Ben Thompson) realises and reveals the stalker has claimed hes Ryans dad. Michelle's totally baffled by this news and, as Steve (Simon Gregson) and Liam question if she's was unfaithful to Dean, she's feels as though she's being attacked and furiously defends herself. Michelle racks her brains trying to think why the stalker would make such allegations. Is there any truth in his story?Steve finally tells Liz (Beverley Callard) that hes given Jim (Charles Lawson) a job at Streetcars. He understands that shes worried but insists that Jim is just trying to get back on his feet and wont cause any trouble. However, Liz is convinced that Steve's making a huge mistake goes to the cab office to warn Jim about interfering in her life. He promises to keep well away and wishes her well, and Liz is surprised to hear that he seems genuinely pleased for her, but is still wary. Is Steve placing too much trust in his father or has he really changed for the better? Gail (Helen Worth) makes a meal for Stephen (Todd Boyce) and the rest of the family. David (Jack P Shepherd) is impressed when Stephen tells him he has offices in Europe and makes a concerted effort to get him on side, telling him he wants to mend his ways. Will Stephen be convinced by David?Elsewhere, when Vera (Elizabeth Dawn) gets busy looking at properties by the sea, Jack (William Tarmey) breaks the news that their budget is smaller than she realises. Paul (Tom Hudson) feels terrible as Jack covers that he gave the money to him for the Italian. Vera's furious that she wasn't consulted first. Jacks relieved that Vera has bought his story, but assures Paul that he lied for Veras sake not his. Will Jack ever forgive his grandson?
