Paula's character Kylie Platt hit drug dealer Callum Logan (Sean Ward) - who is the father of her son Max - over the head with a spanner as he fought with her sister-in-law Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien) in the special hour-long episode and she's now admitted she was a bag of nerves before going live.

She said: "I was really nervous, because Callum and Sarah were in the middle of a fight scene we couldn't fully determine what position they were going to end up in, so I had to get myself in the right place. Sean's quite long, so I had to get my legs in the right position to be able to reach to hit him. You've got to trust your co-stars an enormous amount doing a live episode. There was a lot of trust between us all."

The 29-year-old star - who returned to the soap earlier this year after giving birth to son Arthur on New Year's Eve - also confessed she was surprised when she found out Callum was being killed off.

Asked if she was worried about making the killing look real, Paula shared: "I was shocked, I was shocked about Sean leaving, never mind that I was going to do the deed. I didn't feel too worried because I've always felt really looked after on the show and wanted here, so I didn't feel like it was a signal to say bye bye you're going now. I was reassured that the storyline would allow for more scope for stories for Kylie so I definitely haven't been too worried about it."

Kylie and the rest of the Platt family will now be seen struggling with the burden of their secret after burying Callum under the famous cobbles.
