The Carters are over the moon to have Lee back home after his time in the army in Afghanistan, and he tells his brother Johnny that he always knew he was gay. The two bond, though their father Mick wants to know why his son didn't return home straight away, and suspects Lee of hiding something.

Meanwhile, a date is arranged between Aleks and Roxy by Ronnie, but she worries that her control of her sister may be being lost.

A contract is secured by Lucy and Lauren, but Ian remains unsupportive of his daughter in her new business venture, and Abi receives an offer to attend university in Liverpool, leaving Jay unhappy but open to a suggestion she makes.

Elsewhere, Terry helps Bianca by taking care of the kids as she awaits the results of her cancer gene test, impressing David who finally accepts him.
