Katie (Sammy Winward) is upset to find herself in the middle of another argument between Gray (Christopher Villiers) and Perdy (Georgia Slowe). However, that evening she attends one of Gray's parties and the pair are embarrassed when she's mistaken for Gray's girlfriend. A shared moment follows and Katie later confides in Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that she's sure Gray has started to return her feelings for him. Can Gray move past his issues with Perdy and look for a future with another woman?Elsewhere, Zak (Steve Halliwell) and Lisa (Jane Cox) find out that Sam's (James Hooton) heating is broken and ask him to allow Samson (Ben Shooter) to stay at the Dingles until it's fixed. Sam's rejection of the idea annoys Zak and he tells Carl (Tom Lister) to sort the boiler out. Sam's lies are exposed when Carl discovers the thermostat turned down and warns Sam to sort himself out or move. With things looking bleak, a glimmer of hope appears from the most unlikely of places. Has Shadrach (Andy Devine) managed to change Sam's mind about moving? Also, Duke (Dicken Ashworth) is surprised to find Ryan (Reece Noi) waiting at his door and the youngster opens up to him about the problems with his mum's new boyfriend. Duke waits to talk with Terry (Billy Hartman), who makes the point that Ryan needs Duke. Will Duke leave the village to return to his old stomping ground?
