Fans of Hollyoaks have known for some time now that Amy Barnes would be meeting her maker in upcoming episodes of the Channel 4 soap, but exactly how she dies is still being kept tightly under wraps. In episodes coming this week however, all will be revealed as Amy is killed off following her wedding to Ryan Knight.

In her final moments, Amy will have a huge bust-up with Kieron Richardson’s character Ste, but will he be the cause of her death? The two have a rocky past, having been in a relationship in the past where Ste was both physically and mentally abusive. Since then however, they’ve managed to patch things up and become great friends while co-parenting their children.

With Ste set to have a blackout in the moments before Amy dies, is this the end for Kieron Richardson on the soap?

He said to The Star on Sunday: “I honestly couldn’t be more proud of this week’s episodes. It was my time to absolutely grab this performance by the balls and show people what I’m made of. I feel like my whole career, the last 12 years of training, has been leading up to this point.

“It’s one of those things. ‘Am I staying? Am I going?’ Nobody knows yet. It all happens with the story. I really am so happy with this week’s episode and, touch wood, people will like them too.”

Actress Ashley Slanina-Davies – who plays Amy – has warned fans that they’ll be shocked when they see what Hollyoaks has in store.

Speaking to Soaplife, she said: “It will probably shock viewers and they might want to rewind it again. I’ve left the show now, but I’ll be watching the death scene. I’ll find it funny because there are shots of Amy’s body and I found it so hard to keep still. I’m the worst actor at playing dead.”

Slanina-Davies added: “It’s going to be awful for everyone left behind. I’m going to find the funeral so hard to watch because the kids do such great sad faces.”

Hollyoaks continues weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm, with First Look episodes at 7pm every weeknight on E4.
