Ginger or peppermint tea

Studies have found that a soothing cup of your favourite herbal tea can do wonders to settle the nasty effects of a hangover. Ginger tea is thought to reduce motion sickness, whereas peppermint tea is a known morning sickness cure in pregnancy. Both will also reduce nausea and stomach pain.

Pear Juice

Recent research from Australia found that having a glass of pear juice before a night out could reduce the severity of your hangover. The Asian pear is thought to improve concentration, as well as reduce your sensitivity to sound and light, lessening that dreaded headache. Scientists at Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CISRO), believe that the pears have an effect upon the enzymes involved in alcohol metabolism. However, the pear juice has to be consumed before a night of drinking and it is yet unclear if the Western pear can have the same effect.

Turmeric

Its anti-inflammatory and anti-septic qualities make it a good natural disinfectant and wound healer and it has been used throughout Asia for this exact purpose. Turmeric can also help repair damaged skin cells.

The

Omega-3 also provides moisture and keeps your eyes looking shiny and bright. You will also find that after a night of drinking, you will crave fatty foods and eating avocado instead of ready meals will give you a lot of the nutrients that you need for speeding up your recovery.

Asparagus

Strawberries

Researchers at the University of Barcelona found that strawberries, when added to the diet prior to drinking, could prevent some of the damage made by alcohol. Antioxidants in strawberries protect your stomach's mucous membrane against the damaging effects of ethanol and other agents.
