There are many things that can go wrong, such as inviting the wrong people, not balancing the budget, not picking the right place and failing to keep everyone happy- to name a few. So here we have a few tips for those bridesmaids out there who are looking for some guidance.

Who to bring?

The list of attendees is the first port of call- but does the bride want a young person's night out or does she want her mother, mother in law and grandmothers there too? Stay in touch with each and every one of them so you can inform them of any changes and keep them up to date.

What date?

The date needs to be close enough to the wedding to keep her excited but not so the bride is not hung over, maybe a couple of weeks before would do it. At the opposite end of the spectrum, don't make it too far away from the big day or she may lose momentum. Also give yourself enough time to guarantee that you can get things booked in. Doodle is a great tool that allows you to set up an event online, add in all the possible dates and then send an invitation to the other women. They put in their available times and then the app works it all out for you- then you have the best time for everyone!

Budgets

Make sure everyone has a similar budget in mind. If many of your hens are missing out because they can't afford the party, then you may need to rethink it. An app called Paym allows hens to text over the money to pay you back and if you are not good with the numbers, use My Check to work out what everyone owns- they are not going to argue with a phone.

Where?

Have an itinerary for the hen night. Where you will be going, at what times and where you are meeting up. Check out Groupon for the best deals if your bride is indecisive and work out the night for the best value- everyone will thank you for it.

Personalise the night

Make sure she can recognise it as hers, not yours and make her feel special- whether its with sweets she loves, an appropriate theme, or her drink of choice- whatever her favourite things are- make sure that you have a few of them in there!
