Oh, it feels good to be writing some great news about theatre again!

Today (October 12th, 2020) it was announced that RuPaul's Drag Race stars and legendary drag queens Monét X Change and Courtney Act would both be starring in brand new killer comedy stage show Death Drop this coming December, opening at the Garrick Theatre.

The performances will mark the West End debuts for the pair, who have become household names across the globe thanks to their memorable times on both RuPaul's Drag Race, as well as their hard work carving out a career in the arts away from the show.

Monét will take on the role of glamorous American weather girl Summer Raines, who's currently living in London; whilst Courtney will star as 80s pop sensation Shazza, in a murder mystery unlike any other.

Taking place in 1991, a socially-distanced audience will watch as the story unfolds on Tuck Island, where a soirée soon goes from shade to literal murder! Tensions rise and guests reveal their sordid pasts, each sashaying away until one final nerve-shredding moment, where surviving guests will find out who-dunnit!

Monét commented: "Let’s see, you have Monét X Change, Courtney Act, and a full cast of drag stars!? Ms. Thing, Death Drop is an absolutely brilliant show and I am super excited to perform it in London’s fabulous West End!”

"I can't wait to get back onto a stage in front of real people this Christmas and I especially can't wait to make my West End debut in Death Drop!" added Courtney. "It’s such a hilarious show and it’s just what we all need after months of being locked away. The Garrick Theatre, I’m coming for you!"

They're not the only recognisable faces taking part, as RuPaul's Drag Race UK contestant Vinegar Strokes joins the cast alongside drag royalty Anna Phylactic, LoUis CYfer, Holly Stars and Kemah Bob!

The capacity at the Garrick Theatre has been reduced to comply with coronavirus guidelines, with social distancing, hand sanitation, face coverings and track and trace all in place. Other measures include contactless tickets, temperature testing and the deep cleaning and sanitation of the theatre.

Tickets for Death Drop start at £15 and are available from deathdropplay.com, with previews from December 3rd, 2020.
