To dream about a dip suggests you are trying something out to see how it feels.

Perhaps you don’t want to commit to something wholeheartedly and you just want to test how it might look or feel before you make a final decision on it.

What is putting you off? Perhaps your gut is telling you it’s not for you. Maybe it’s the cost involved or it’s possible someone has said something that is making you question it.

If someone else was eating dip, it could be this very person you are not entirely sure about. Perhaps you have just started dating and you don’t know how you feel about them yet or maybe you’ve recently started a job and you’re unsure whether you want to stay or not.

A dip could also represent a mental decline, perhaps you have been feeling rather subdued lately and you are looking for something to lift you up.

Do you need to see a professional or to talk to a trusted friend to give yourself a well needed boost?

If you saw someone dip their headlights while they were driving or indeed you did this for an oncoming driver, perhaps someone is trying to help you see the way. Maybe you are making things clearer for yourself so you have a better chance of success.

A dip implies something fast- a quick dip in the pool for example, so the dream could be telling you that you are rushing something in your waking hours.

Do you need to slow down and take your time with something or someone? Consider who or what else was in the dream with you for additional meaning.

On the flipside, are you taking too long with something? Does it require far less time than you are dedicating to it? If so, treat it with a bit more urgency.

If you were dipping jewellery into a cleaning solution, it’s possible you don’t know the real value of something in your life right now. Or perhaps you can’t see the potential because something isn’t looking its best. Try to see past the imperfections and you might surprise yourself.

To dip a biscuit into a drink implies you are missing the simple pleasures of company and conversation. Perhaps you haven’t seen many people lately and you crave for these small delights again.

If you saw house prices or interest rates dip in a dream, something in your life may alter by a small amount for a short period. Keep reminding yourself that this won’t be forever.

It may require you to change your ways momentarily so be prepared for a shift in what you consider to be normal.

RELATED: What does it mean to dream about crepes?

If you are enjoying all areas of your waking hours lately, then it could be symbolic of the contentment you’re feeling and your subconscious pushing you to savour every moment. Perhaps whatever is sweet in your life is becoming too sickly for you and it’s becoming more of a repellent than it is appealing. Alternatively, it’s possible you are having too much of a good thing and you may need to dial things back a bit before it affects your health, your relationships or your reputation. Crepes can also represent a desire for everything to be perfect, balanced and level in life and you might be craving this at present if you’re experiencing some bumps and lumps either personally or professionally. You might be at the start of something and you want it to be just right. You may have zero tolerance for anything going wrong if the thing you’ve started is very important to you or has a lot riding on its success...
