As The World Turns
As The World Turns, one of Americas longest running U.S daytime time soaps is being axed by CBS Network.
The soap which has been running for 54 years will see the final episode air in the States in September, after TV executives took the decision to cancel the show.
Executive producer Chris Goutman says, "Throughout our history, As the World Turns has remained dedicated to sharing compelling stories that have entertained fans for more than five decades.
He then went on to say the they were disappointed and saddened by the news that the show is not being renewed.
The show maybe saved if another network decides to pick it up, a show source reveals the programme's bosses are seeking "a new outlet to carry the show".
The show launched some big movie stars into the limelight such as, Marisa Tomei, Dana Delany, James Earl Jones, Julianne Moore, Parker Posey and Meg Ryan.
