Micheal C Hall, star of hit US TV crime show Dexter has only just revealed that he has been battling cancer.

The actor, who has made the show one of the most popular on American TV, has admitted that he has been fighting the disease since being diagnosed last year as Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

It’s not all bad news though, as his publicist Craig Bankey revealed that the disease is in remission, but that Hall, 38, will continue to have treatments for the illness.

He said that Hall was very grateful to the Los Angeles based team that treated him over the last year.

The news hasn’t blunted the Carolina born star, who has said that he will still be attending the Golden Globe awards this Sunday with his wife and co-star Jennifer Carpenter.

Hall goes there with high hopes with him being nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama award for the fourth year in a row.

The show has been a massive success, just finishing it’s fourth season in the States and is also up for the Best Television Series – Drama prize at the ceremony.
