Hello, everyone!

Can you believe the month of detox is nearly over? I can't, it has gone so quickly! One of my top tip products this week is 'Gluten Free Slim Noodles', they are a low-calorie product containing a natural blend of organic konjac vegetable flour, they are suitable for coeliac, gluten free diet, diabetics, vegans and vegetarians. The healthy konjac plant is completely natural and full of fibre that helps you feel satisfied after mealtimes without a calorific consequence.

They have many products in their range and I tested out the slim noodles, only 9 calories and 0g carbs per 100g, gluten, sugar and fat-free this is the perfect product to add to your meals. These gluten free slim noodles are easy to use, all you need to do is cut the packet open, and then inside cut the clear package open and drain the water in a sieve.

Place the noodles into a bowl and then heat up in the microwave or oven as per instructions on the package. Taste Test: I would not eat these noodles on their own, if you want them really plain I would suggest adding some vegetable stock to them and let them sit for 5 min to absorb the flavour. I decided to have them with broccoli and gluten-free soy sauce, totally delicious, the texture of these noodles is soft and light. I would absolutely buy these again, they are an excellent way to have a more substantial meal without the fear of calories plus they are gluten free which is a huge benefit.

I do love my smoothies in January so if you are struggling to find good combinations, this is one of my favourites, blueberry and spinach smoothie, full of iron and antioxidants giving you lots of energy and flushing out all of those toxins. http://blog.biteappy.com/blog/vegan-blueberry-and-spinach-smoothie/

Restaurant Hangout of the Week

What a gem! Eat Naked is in the heart of Brighton, tucked inside the stunning East Arcade is Eat Naked, revolutionary to Brighton is this wonderful eatery that is all about clean eating and healthy food. Stacie Stewart, the owner is a delight, you are filled with energy from her as soon as you enter the shop! As I listened to her talking through why she decided to open Eat Naked, there is an overwhelming passion for what she does and what she cooks. If you fancy picking up some lunch from here make sure you head down early, it is all freshly made and it doesn't stick around for long.

When I popped in, late afternoon, there were some wonderful smoothies and sweet treats to choose from. From delicious protein balls to homemade mars and snicker bars, it was going to be a hard choice, all are free from gluten, wheat and some vegan, dairy free, such an array of choice for all diets. I decided to go for the most healthy, low carb option of the super food Brownie. The brownie was delicious, all homemade, and dense, it is not too sweet as it has no refined sugar and naturally sweetened with dates and full of flavours and textures due to the nuts and seeds. The brownie was Raw, vegan, dairy free, gluten free, wheat free... what more could you want!

To accompany this, I had to try a smoothie, all homemade and the flavours and combinations are so original, it really is hard to choose from. After a lot of discussion, I decided to go for the 'Energize', made from house almond milk, banana, medjool date, cinnamon, almond butter and maca. The smoothie was delicious and decent a size versus the price, it was really creamy and smooth, sweetened and favoured with the dates and cinnamon, it was a winner in my eyes. They also offer a great loyalty scheme which after 3 stamps you get a free treat or wait till you get to 5 and grab a free salad!

Top Tip of the Week

In January, it is all about eating healthy and getting fit! Make sure that if you are hitting the gym hard that you are feeding enough to your body. Everyone likes to stay away from carbohydrates, but you really don't need too, just monitor how much you have.

If you have a jacket potato, make sure it is a small one that fits in the palm of your hand. If you are having pasta, weigh it, make sure it is about 100g when it is dried. It is always about portion size and not depriving your body.
